Amber Flippo, PhD, Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT
“I believe, as human beings, we want to feel respected, loved, valued, appreciated, and understood. I believe most of us want to make a difference in the lives of those around us – our loved ones, friends and community. Caring and compassion guide me in providing the highest quality of professional therapeutic services. I have experience working with those struggling with relationship/family issues, divorce, trauma, grief/loss, life transitions, self-defeating habits, anxiety, depression, and childhood pain/struggles. I’m consistently learning from those who are recognized as the best in our field. I am currently in training to become certified as an Emotionally Focused Therapist for Couples. This approach comes from a rich theoretical foundation of attachment, humanism, and relational theories and has a strong research base supporting its use. I’m excited to bring this to my approach with couples. Navigating life can be difficult at times. We can all benefit from a safe, knowledgeable, and compassionate guide. I have a warm, authentic, intuitive, and always deeply engaged style of therapy. I strive to help people become more connected to themselves, so that we can connect more authentically to others and expand our capacity to feel better and cultivate lasting fulfillment.”
Christina Hunter LMFT
Christina received her masters degree in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy in 2014. Christina started her MFT internship with The Children’s Cabinet in Reno, where she previous completed her practicum as well. While at The Children’s Cabinet Christina worked within the Safe Schools Healthy Students program and provided Suicide Screening and therapy for students through out the entire Washoe County School District. In late 2017 Christina moved to Fallon, NV where she realized the great need for services in our community. After the Safe Schools Healthy Students program ended at The Children’s Cabinet Christina left and joined the amazing team at Fallon Family Wellness Center. Christina’s passions include providing therapy for children and adolescents, especially those experiencing suicidal ideations. Christina wants to help eliminate Nevada’s suicide epidemic. She also finds great meaning in serving those in the LGBT+ community. When Christina is not providing therapy she is spending time with her dogs and family.
Kristen Anderson LCPC
My name is Kristen Anderson, and I am a registered clinical practicing counselor in NV (CPC). I have worked in the recovery industry for the majority of my professional career. I attended the University of Pittsburgh where I received my Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology. After finishing my first degree I went on to pursue graduate school at George Fox University located in Portland, OR where I studied Clinical Mental Health and received of Master of Arts. While in my graduate program I worked in the LGBTQ community at a facility known as Trans Active that provides mental health services and advocacy to transgender youth and adolescents. I then relocated to the Central Coast of CA and began working in the addiction field through Ken Starr Wellness Group. While I was working there I was also completing my second master’s degree in Transpersonal Psychology, which has greatly expanded my knowledge of connection in the healing process of illness and disease of any kind. I worked with The Haven at Pismo, a residential drug and alcohol treatment center, for a year and a half and then recently relocated to NV to work at the Fallon Family Wellness Center. I also recently worked briefly for Hope for the Sierra, eating disorder treatment center in Reno, just before they closed. Currently I am pursuing a certification in meditation, I am passionate about the power that mindfulness can offer my clients in their healing work and am excited to bring that skill set into my sessions and groups I lead.
